Major: Audio Engineering

My journey in the audio industry truly started when I was finishing up my classes with Mark B. Christensen, I early on realized that I wanted to follow the mixing and mastering lines after spending long days in the studio assisting and coordinating sessions of all kinds.

Since I started as an intern, I was constantly mixing ITB at home and whenever I wasn't on shift at the studio. I use to spend tons of hours in the mastering studio, making recalls and finishing up projects for ERA. At the time I felt like I needed to compensate the lack of mixing experience by putting all my free time on to it. Getting files from various people kept me busy for months. I was technically mixing for myself and not for any specific client, people where just sharing their stuff with me.

I remember the first record I mastered, it was for a client that came through the studio with a low budget for the service but that needed his project mastered with all the cautiousness that any project deserved regardless of the money. I jumped on to it and finished the album after a few hours of work, no revisions no recalls.

Slowly I started to get some projects assigned for mastering at ERA, but I was mainly assisting for the most part. I kept mixing and mastering whenever it was possible while training myself making recalls and listening carefully to all the material that came through the studio.

After almost 2 years of working at the studio as the 1st mastering assistant, I knew it was the right moment to make the move and seriously start focusing on my freelancing career.

Since then I've been freelancing and constantly working from the studios of Engine Room Audio, NYC
