Recent Sessions 3/2/14 Posted on 2014-03-03 by AJ Cannon

The last few sessions me and Randy have been working on Ed Smith's album.  Were going back and polishing the tracks up and adding midi instruments such as strings, congas, etc.  We've been working particulary with the latin style tracks.  They seem to require more attention than the others.  Also, one session we did a quick recording for Roy Hale.  He had sent a tune to Randy's friend Tim who plays multiple instruments.  Tim sent back some raw tracks of fiddle, mandolin, and electric guitar.  We imported them and mixed the song.  Also we did quick recordings of two of Roy's new tunes.  Theyre not done yet.  It was just a rough draft.  I've been having lots of trouble with pro tools freezing up and locking my computer. Hopefully I'll be purchasing some extra RAM memory soon and it will help my system run more efficiently. I'm unable to go to the studio today due to some bad winter weather but we'll be meeting on thursday. I've recently been writing a new song about my home town.  I hope it turns out well.  I did a rough mix in FL Studio yesterday but I think I'll redo a little bit today.  I liked the layout but I played electric guitar on some parts and while on a few parts it sounds good, on others i dont really like it.  There's only so good it can sound when you're using a karaoke microphone and playing a cheap epiphone through a behringer starter pack amp haha.  New equipment will be my next few purchases after I finish the program.  I hope to get a few decent mics.  That would help alot.  I'd also like a new guitar amp but that's not completely necessary. If I hope to have my own studio someday it's a good idea to start collecting equipment now!
