Alejandro Rodriguez-DawsonLas Vegas Recording Connection

Week 1 Posted on 2014-10-19 by Alejandro Rodriguez-Dawson

First things first, I've been wanting to do this program for over a year. The reason it took me so long to do it was because I was living in Hawaii when I found out about it and since what makes recording connections different is the fact that they put you in an actual studio, I decided that I was gonna wait until I moved to Las Vegas to get started. Best decision so far. I went to the studio two times my first week and I'm already learning a lot. From how things work to how scheduling is setup and I've already started meeting some of the local artists. One in paticular goes by the name of Toxsikk, He's been doing music for nine years and watching him work was really fasinating he was doing everything really fast but I was able to keep up and take mental notes as he was working. I even got the chance to do a little button pushing and record him laying down a couple tracks. It was a fun expierence.

I moved out here to Las Vegas by myself and I dont have a car yet so it makes getting some studio time pretty dificult. The way my work schedule is set up I only have time to go to the studio in to morning but most of the sessions are later on in the day. So right now I'm in the process of changing my work schedule so I can get in the studio as much as possible.

I'm really digging the ebook and how easy it is to understand all the information they are giving me. I've only completed chapter one so far and I'm already having a fair share of "Ah-Ha" moments. One thing I really cant wait for is finally getting ProTools and getting some REAL work done!
